MONTH OF CREATIVITY 2026
České Budějovice will be transformed into a space brimming with creative experiences for young children and their parents. The immersive festival Jižní svéráz will combine live culture with exploration in public spaces, while the Month of Creativity will offer workshops and creative zones designed for children from birth to six years old and those who accompany them on their journey.

Womenpedia: From little, abundance grows.
This year's Womenpedia workshop in Komařice invites women to discover their inner sources of strength, to restore their personal landscapes, to seek the boundaries between their inner and outer worlds, and to explore their own roots. Now in its third year, the gathering intertwines art, the female experience, and the landscape as a space for renewal, growth, and sharing.

A Day for Novohradky: Searching for Lupines at Pohoří
The Pilgerland – Pilgrimage Landscape project connects art with a direct experience of the landscape through physical labor and the care of pilgrimage sites. On May 16th, a gathering will take place near Pohoří na Šumavě focused on the removal of the invasive large-leaved lupine. The event will include a guided tour to identify rare local plants and a demonstration of a dyeing experiment, showcasing how pigment is extracted from lupine to dye wool. 👉 Join us and experience the landscape differently – as both a pilgrim and its protector.

KAFKAESQUE SOUTH BOHEMIA

On the occasion of this year’s 100th Kafka anniversary, a scholarly and cultural program will be held focusing on the circle of German-speaking Prague authors around Franz Kafka. Through expert lectures and an accompanying cultural program, we will explore the significance of South Bohemia for their lives and works. SKATEHOLDERS FORUM 2024
The Skateholders Forum is the second phase of our project to connect us with the global community of organizations that use skateboarding for education and development support/social work. This year the Skateholders Forum will be the main event in the skateboarding section of the European City of Culture 2028. It will be a week packed with skate jams, panel discussions, exhibitions, workshops and evening fun, including interesting guests from several European countries.

Young Creators is a project of České Budějovice – the European Capital of Culture 2028, building on the tradition of Majáles in České Budějovice. For 20 years Majáles has been providing the city´s students the opportunity to proactively participate in culture and to create their own events. The objective is to give them more such opportunities in 2028!
Majáles and České Budějovice 2028: Za hranice hudby (Beyond Music)
Za hranice hudby (Beyond Music) is a project of České Budějovice – the European Capital of Culture 2028. Its objective is, until 2028, to connect independent music scenes from the neighboring countries (Austria, Germany, Slovakia) through performances, a database of festivals and clubs and artists, and publishing of a guide for musicians and music professionals structured by the regions.
