CreaVA 2025 – A New Opportunity for South Bohemian Artists

Join the 12th edition of the CreaVA 2025 festival in Valladolid

📅 Dates: April 25 – May 31, 2025

What is CreaVA?

CreaVA was established 12 years ago as a platform to support the work of young artists from Valladolid.
Each year, the city transforms into an open gallery, where painting, installations, photography, video, illustration, and mural art come together.
Art projects are displayed in various urban spaces – from shops, bars, and cinemas to schools, public spaces, and creative incubators.
Each edition attracts approximately 20 artists and utilizes diverse exhibition spaces throughout the city. The festival kicks off with guided tours of the exhibitions.
CreaVA is organized as part of open events to celebrate EU Creativity Month in May within the CreArt network and is supported by the European Commission through the Creative Europe program.

CreArt Residency in Oulu: Frozen People

The CreArt network, in collaboration with the non-profit organization Oulu Urban Culture, is opening a call for artists to apply for a residency. This project is part of the prestigious artistic program of the Frozen People Winter Festival held in Oulu.

📅 January-March 2025
📍 Oulu, Finland

Frozen People

Frozen People is a winter festival of electronic music and Nordic art, held under the patronage of the Oulu2026 – European Capital of Culture program.

Event Date: March 1, 2025
Location: Outdoor area near downtown Oulu

The festival offers a unique atmosphere, blending the brutal Nordic winter conditions with the dynamics of art and electronic music. The 2025 edition will feature a change of location – instead of the traditional venue by the frozen sea, the festival will move closer to the city center.

Goal of the Residency

The selected artist will create a work that becomes part of the official program of the Frozen People festival. The piece will be installed outdoors in subarctic conditions and must be visually striking both during the day and at night.

  • live or create in one of the cities involved in the CreArt 3.0 network (including České Budějovice),
  • want to present innovative installations with a focus on ecology and sustainability.

Specifications for the Artwork

The work should be:

  • suitable for outdoor installation, impressive both in daylight and in the dark,
  • a combination of light, media, community, or environmental art, and may include performative elements,
  • ecological, recyclable, and environmentally friendly.
The festival area offers a wide range of possibilities – from industrial walls and open spaces to forest areas, beaches, or installations on snow and ice (depending on the weather conditions).

Residency Conditions

Residency Dates: January 28 – March 4, 2025
