The CB Circular House is a project that changes the way we think about consumption and waste. Instead of the traditional linear model of "make, use, dispose of" it focuses on sustainability, reuse and recycling. The CB Circular House offers opportunities for residents of the region and beyond to dispose of unwanted items, encourages people to think about the value of things and the meaning of sustainability, and inspires and enables them to experience the circular economy in practice. The project has four basic levels that will be developed through its implementation: environmental, social, cultural and educational leisure.

Every year, the project organizes a RE-USE festival, which promotes the principles of the circular economy and upcycling. The festival combines art, craft and practical workshops focused on the reuse of materials.

Why is the CIRCULAR HOUSE project part of the Budweis 2028?

The Circular House CB project is part of Budweis 2028 because it combines cultural production with environmental sustainability and active public involvement. It offers concrete solutions to current challenges in waste management, the circular economy and community cooperation – not only in theory, but in practice above all. Through activities such as a reuse center, equipment rental, repairs, a shared workshop and the annual RE-USE festival, the project naturally connects art, design, craft, and education. At the same time, it engages a wide range of residents – from seniors to the youth – and creates space for cross-sector cooperation with companies, schools and the university. The Circular House brings a new, inspiring model of sustainable practice to the cultural environment and can serve as a model for other Czech and European cities, thus fulfilling the international dimension and vision of Budweis 2028.

About Kabinet CB:

Kabinet CB is a reuse center and social enterprise in Budweis whose mission is to give old things a second chance. It collects furniture, dishes, books and household materials, and returns them to circulation through renovation, redesign, and community sales, thereby contributing to a significant reduction in waste and strengthening the idea of a circular economy. Kabinet CB is a sophisticated model of a community center where art, design, ecological craftsmanship and education intertwine in sustainable practice – and is therefore a natural driving force behind the Circular House CB project within the Budweis 2028 program.
