Youth Dialogue Forum 2025 is in full swing! Join the discussion!

“Youth Dialogue Forum” is in full swing! Join the discussion on how misinformation affects your everyday life, share your perspective, and win a weekend stay in Krakow!

Under the umbrella of the European Capital of Culture 2028, a new initiative called Young Creators has started — a project aimed at encouraging young people to get involved in culture and civic life. Young Creators are now becoming partners of Youth Dialogue Forum 2025, a project that connects young people from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary. It gives them space to discuss topics that matter to them and to propose their own ideas for change.

We are now in the first phase of the digital discussion!

How does misinformation affect your daily life and your community?

Fake news isn’t just about political propaganda — it’s part of our everyday lives. It could be a rumor you’ve heard at school, a post on your feed, or an argument with family or friends. Do you feel that fake news has a real impact on your life? Does it affect trust in your close circle, in your community, or even in the whole country? Join the discussion and let’s explore how others perceive it.

Share your experience in this unique international discussion. Vote on 35 opinions and get a chance to join the live forum in Krakow (January 23–25, 2026).

All expenses are covered! The entire discussion is anonymous and open until November 7, 2025.

Tips on how to get involved effectively:

  • The organization DEMDIS provides a unique method that enables citizens to engage in open and fair dialogues.
  • Vote on other people’s opinions and add your own.
  • Be mindful of the context of other communities (when referring to your own community, you don’t need to name it explicitly) and respond from your own experience.
  • The digital discussion includes automatic translation, so you can contribute in Czech. You can find more information about how DEMDIS discussions work and their methodology HERE.

Why are we asking these questions?

We ask them because misinformation isn’t just about lies or intentional propaganda — it’s about how it shapes our everyday lives, our trust in others, and our sense of belonging. By sharing your personal experiences, you contribute to a collective understanding of how misinformation affects real people and communities in our country.

The goal isn’t to find someone to blame, but to recognize patterns, learn from each other, and discover what helps us stay connected and resilient — even when the truth seems uncertain. Your perspective is a key piece of the bigger picture we’re trying to understand.

What does the term “misinformation” mean?

Misinformation refers to false or misleading information that people often share without realizing it’s untrue. Unlike disinformation, which is spread intentionally to manipulate or deceive, misinformation is usually shared because people trust the source or simply want to be helpful.

What will we do with the discussion results?

The results will help us understand how misinformation affects people and communities across different countries. After this joint mapping phase, we’ll move on to the next stage — discussions focused on solutions and what can actually be done about misinformation.

The findings will guide the preparation of the live Youth Dialogue Forum in Krakow, where selected participants will develop concrete recommendations. Each ambassador will receive a national and community summary showing how their network perceives and experiences the issue. More information can be found in the links below:

What is the Youth Dialogue Forum?

Youth Dialogue Forum 2025 was created by young people for young people — because we’re tired of just watching and waiting for someone else to make a change. Get involved too!

We know that beyond voting, young people often have limited opportunities to propose changes, ask questions, be heard, and influence their surroundings. That’s why the organizers of YDF have come up with a new way to engage everyone — whether you’re very active or just a little curious — in an open dialogue where you can share your opinions and experiences.

The project has three phases:

1️⃣ Ambassador onboarding and topic selection – we started by recruiting ambassadors and choosing the main topic of the forum.
2️⃣ Digital discussion by DEMDIS – launched on October 13, where you and other young people can easily and anonymously share your views.
3️⃣ International forum in Krakow – we’ll select the most active ambassadors to attend the live meeting of young people from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary, where together we’ll present results and propose solutions.

Last year, over 700 young people participated in the project. This year, we aim to reach up to 2,000 participants. To make it happen, we’re looking for local ambassadors who will play a key role in the project.
