BRIDGES Festival
17. June 2026
Organizer: BudeCirkus

We invite you to the BRIDGES Festival – a showcase of contemporary circus that will bring life to the park by Malý jez and the surrounding public space in České Budějovice.
Come and experience a unique atmosphere where generations and the local community connect with the European scene. You can look forward to powerful experiences – often with opportunities for active participation.
The central symbol of the festival is funambulism, or tightrope walking – not only as an acrobatic discipline, but also as a metaphor for finding balance in life and in society.
When: June 17–20
Where: Park by Malý jez, České Budějovice
For this year’s edition, a wide range of workshops is prepared for different age groups, where you can explore, experience, and perhaps even find your own sense of balance. A unique take on slackline walking will be presented by Kristýna Tvrdíková.
Each year brings exceptional performances by Czech and international companies, workshops for both children and adults, and space for meeting and international collaboration. Come and see acrobats, dancers, and actors from the cradle of contemporary circus – France. On Wednesday, June 17, they will present their show Entre nous…, a performance on three six-meter-high poles.
Also arriving from France is Le Grand Théâtre Mécanique, bringing a small big top filled with miniature spectators that you can observe in their micro-world. Company Debil Emmental will make you laugh with their street acrobatics show about the everydayness of life, and get you moving in a dance/movement workshop where you can pause and reconnect with yourself and your body.
The Teens Stage, featuring young circus talents from the Czech Republic and Germany, will bring the park by Malý jez to life on Friday. The program also spans generations, including the Senior Stage with performers of the third age. Swiss mime Stefan Bütschi will present Nositelé s.r.o., and as part of the pre-program, you can enjoy the local senior theatre group from České Budějovice with their performance Stand up.
Beyond performances and workshops, the festival offers a relaxed atmosphere by the water and a chance to simply be together. You’ll be able to make your own juggling balls or print a design from BudeCirkus onto your T-shirt.
The MOSTY Festival grows together with its audience – from programs for teenagers to families and seniors, from site-specific projects to a European forum of circus pedagogy.
Don’t wait and register for one of the workshops. (Some workshops do not require registration – please check the link after opening the specific workshop.)
