CreArt 3.0: Open call for an artist residency in Skopje (2026)

The City of Skopje and the Cultural Informative Center (KIC) are announcing an open call for a one-month artist residency within the European network CreArt 3.0. Network of Cities for Artistic Creation, whose partners also include České Budějovice through the project České Budějovice – European Capital of Culture 2028.
The residency will take place from May 20 to June 20, 2026, at the Cultural Informative Center in downtown Skopje.

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY
The residency program is based on the collaboration of two artists:
- one artist from the partner cities of the CreArt network
- one local artist from Skopje
During their month-long stay, the artists will work on their own projects using the facilities and technical equipment of the Cultural Informative Center.
The residency will conclude with a joint exhibition presenting the works created during the stay.
The Cultural Informative Center is one of the key cultural institutions in Skopje and has long supported music, theater, visual arts, literature, and multimedia projects. The residency thus offers not only a workspace, but also connections to the local cultural scene.
The call is open to:
Artists born or living in cities involved in the CreArt 3.0 project, including:
- Aveiro (Portugal), Kaunas (Lithuania), Liepāja (Latvia), Lublin (Poland), Oulu (Finland), Regensburg (Germany), Rouen & Clermont-Ferrand (France), Valladolid (Spain), Venice (Italy), Skopje (North Macedonia), České Budějovice (Czech Republic)
- Members of the Croatian Association of Visual Artists (HDLU)
- Ukrainian artists thanks to cooperation with Lviv Art Council "Dialog"
A university degree in the arts is preferred.
Artists from abroad must have valid travel (health) insurance.
WHAT THE RESIDENCE OFFERS
For artists from CreArt partner cities:

Meal allowance up to €400

Production budget for the realization of the work up to €500

Fee for presentation at the exhibition: €375
For artists from Skopje:
- Local travel expenses covered
- Production budget up to €500
- Fee for presentation at the exhibition: €375
After the end of the residency, an exhibition of the created works will take place at the Cultural Informative Center.

You must submit one PDF document containing:
- A copy of your ID card or passport
- A brief and full CV
- A portfolio of your work to date
- A short project proposal (max. 1 A4 page)
- Visual documentation of the project
