MONTH OF CREATIVITY has come to an end!
The Family Saturday that took place at the Wortner House showed what a museum focused on the youngest children could look like.
This year's spring festival, Month of Creativity, focused on children aged 0 to 6 and their adult companions.
Let's not treat contact with art at an early age as a mere bonus. It is one of the key ways to nurture a child's imagination, curiosity, and courage to explore the world.
During the festival, which spanned the entire second half of May, several workshops were held for those who guide young children, whether within educational institutions or informally. These sessions became a space for playing, discussing, dancing, listening, and sharing.

The entire festival program culminated in the aforementioned Family Saturday. It opened the doors of the Wortner House to families with toddlers under 3 years old, setting a playful, child-friendly tone for the entire venue. The custom-designed playroom KUKoutek, created by the KUK Festival, offered children from 10 months to 3 years old the chance to explore a Native American village, a tactile carpet, giant flowers, or interactive playboards.
A relaxation zone with refreshments and art activities led by Kristýna Padrtová was also set up in the courtyard. In addition, the Family Saturday program featured a toddler performance called Song of the Primeval Land (Píseň Prazemě) by the Brno-based theater group Mikro-teatro at the Na Sadech Library, as well as music workshops led by Štěpánka Čížková at the Pražská Kindergarten.

Together with the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery (AJG), we are planning for the Wortner House to become an institution specifically focused on the youngest children in the coming years. Parents were able to spend the entire day here, and we used the opportunity to find out what exactly they need from a children's museum, what they feel is missing, and what their expectations are. Their feedback is currently a crucial guide for our next steps.
Just a week later, the French artist and children's book author Hervé Tullet visited the Wortner House. His visit was no coincidence – it is Tullet’s interactive exhibition that will bring the entire house to life in 2028.
