Nikšić 2030 announces the HUMAN international competition for illustrators and animators
The city of Nikšić, European Capital of Culture 2030, invites artists from around the world to participate in HUMAN, an international thematic competition in illustration and animation. The call for entries is part of the European Animation and Illustration Festival (RE)ANIMACIJA.
The competition is open to all authors regardless of experience or nationality and accepts works created using any artistic or animation technique. The organizers also emphasize that the works must be the result of human creativity—projects created using artificial intelligence cannot be accepted into the competition.
Awards for the best works
The jury will award two cash prizes:

Best illustration – €1,000
- Best animation – €1,000
Submission requirements
Authors may submit:
- a maximum of two illustrations prepared for printing in A3 format,
a maximum of two short animations no longer than 30 seconds.
Competition entries must be sent by email to konkursikultura21@gmail.com – either as attachments or via storage services that allow long-term access and downloading of files (e.g., Google Drive). Links with time limits or without the option to download will not be accepted.
The email must include:
- the title of the work,
- the technique used,
- the year of creation,
- the author's full name,
- the country of origin,
- one sentence with the most important biographical information about the author.
The subject line of the email should be: HUMAN_First Name_Last Name.
Important dates
The deadline for applications is March 1.
The list of selected authors will be published by March 9, and the winners will be announced at the opening of the exhibition on March 21.
