The director of the Japanese organization EU-Japan Fest visited Budweis. The main topic was cooperation.

Following the success of České Budějovice in the competition for the title of European Capital of Culture 2028, the director of the Japanese organization EU-Japan Fest, Mr. Shuji Kogi, came to our city. This organisation has been supporting exchange projects between European Capitals of Culture and Japan for 30 years. Thanks to the enthusiasm of its leaders and with the support of major business companies such as TOYOTA, HITACHI and many others, it has been successful in linking Japanese culture with European culture. After visiting the Town Hall, the delegation headed to the House of Arts.

"The cooperation with the EU-Japan Fest extends beyond the EU. The Japanese are a cultural nation and admirers of Czech culture. Our meeting has opened the way for Budweis, which is a small city in the world, to broad international cooperation, not only in the field of culture and tourism, but also in business. We will know the concrete form in March 2024 after the EU-Japan Fest Committee meeting in Tokyo with the participation of the President of the Japan Business Federation and important sponsors, where the project of the České Budějovice ECoC 2028 will be presented,"
