TIME FOR THE BODY

Time for the body

Movement workshop with dancer Anna Línová.

📅 Thursday, August 8th, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM
📌 REZI.dance, Komařice, Komařice 17, 373 14

Let's pause and reconnect with our bodies! Spend the day in the small village of Komařice, near Římov, at a local residential house surrounded by meadows and forests, under the guidance of Slovak dancer and educator Anna Línová. We will dedicate time and space to connecting with our bodies and exploring its peaceful and dynamic possibilities for self-care. We will focus on conscious breathing, which has the potential to direct our attention inward and towards our personal bodily space. We will reflect on our body’s perception, its weight, and its relationship with the earth. From this peaceful starting point, we will let our breath guide us into movement creation and active motion, which can be a source of our vital attitude towards the daily hustle and bustle.

The theoretical basis and inspiration for this somatic movement workshop is CELL and its space within and around it, as well as the movement between these spaces. Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to gently observe the direction of our need to engage with ourselves and our surroundings.

Anna Línová is a Slovak dancer and educator. She studied at the eight-year Dance Conservatory and later at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the field of classical dance pedagogy. A few years later, she specialized in Infant Developmental Movement Education at the Body-Mind Centering® school. As a performer, she has long collaborated with Anka Sedlačková (SK), director Aňa Hlaváčová (SK), and choreographer Ioana M. Popovici (RO). She co-founded and led Movement Games for Babies and Parents at the ALTA studio and has worked as an external dance educator with DAMU in Prague, JAMU in Brno, and HAMU in Prague. She has been dedicated to somatic work with the public at DanceLAB. As a performer, she is interested in everyday life, and as a teacher, she focuses on creating various environments and their impact on the learning and educational process.

A fee of 390 CZK is required for the full-day event, which covers refreshments, a shared lunch, and childcare. The capacity is limited to 15 participants. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with payment details. We keep track of all interested parties, and if someone fails to pay on time or withdraws from the course, we will contact the next participants on the waiting list.

The workshop includes childcare for children. They will be in a separate room during the morning program to allow you to fully engage with yourself. However, we understand that you may need to be present for your children at times. The afternoon "touch" session and movement in nature will allow for greater involvement of children in the program.

The workshop is part of the series of events titled Women’s Work. This series is an integral part of the WOMENPEDIA project and the cultural and artistic program of České Budějovice 2028 - European Capital of Culture.
