DON - OSKAR NEDBAL THEATRE TÁBOR
Oskar Nedbal Theatre Tábor brings a unique selection of productions from Czech and Moravian stages. Each year it presents nearly two hundred theatre, music, and dance performances, cultural and social discussions and gatherings, exhibitions, educational programmes, and workshops for more than 60,000 audience members.
The theatre, which bears the name of Tábor-born composer and exceptional viola player Oskar Nedbal, forms a striking landmark in the town centre. It is an original complex comprising the original Neo-Renaissance theatre building from 1887 and an inventive modern reconstruction of the neighbouring Empire-style houses. Two generous auditoriums seating 311 and 648 respectively, uniquely connected by a shared stage in an inspired architectural solution, open the space for both intimate and grand cultural experiences.
In recent years the theatre has undergone extensive renovation. In addition to enhanced audience comfort and beautiful interiors, a fully equipped café, and generous exhibition spaces, the theatre boasts the most advanced stage technologies available.
We warmly invite you to carefully curated theatre performances, concerts with outstanding acoustics, intimate gatherings at the DON Club, excellent coffee in the theatre café, exceptional events, and exhibitions of contemporary artists at the DON Gallery.
