Martin Kalenský
Martin, who was born in České Budějovice and still resides there, is a key figure in the city's cultural scene. He has turned his passion for skateboarding into active efforts to improve conditions for the sport. As a founding member of the Světadíl collective and a leading figure in the Světadíl space, Martin plays a crucial role in the development of the local skateboarding community.
In 2014, he organized the first skate contest as part of the Budějovický Majáles, which quickly became a popular tradition. Four years later, he created legendary wooden obstacles that found their place at Lipno, and in 2019, he introduced obstacles inspired by Japanese culture at the Majáles, celebrating skateboarding's inclusion as an Olympic sport.
Martin’s passion and commitment are also evident in the skate urbanism exhibition he organized in collaboration with Studio U / U and Martin Louzecký. This project naturally led to the creation of the Skateholders initiative, which continues to support the development of skateboarding and its culture.
