REZI.DANCE
REZI.DANCE is an artistic residency house for live art, located in the heart of the South Bohemian village of Komařice, in the historic homestead POD JAVORY No. 17. Since 2016 it has offered a space for creation, focused work, and artistic encounter across disciplines — from contemporary dance and theatre to literature. As the first purely residency-based house of its kind in the Czech Republic, it connects free artistic practice with the principles of the creative industries, and supports individual artists, artistic groups, cultural managers, and entire organisational teams.
Each year REZI.DANCE launches an OPEN CALL within its A-I-R programme, offering up to 20 funded residency stays for live art. The residencies are accompanied by public presentations and workshops that bring contemporary art closer to the local community. The association has long-standing collaborations with leading figures of the Czech dance and theatre scene, including Jaro Viňarský, Tereza Ondrová, the collective Ufftenživot, Cirk La Putyka, Tanec Praha, and Nová síť, of which it is an active member.
The residency house lies at the foot of the Novohradské hory mountains, in a landscape that naturally inspires creation and contemplation. The atmosphere of the place is further shaped by its connection with the village of Komařice, the care for local folk traditions, and a strong emphasis on a sustainable approach to the surrounding environment. REZI.DANCE is thus not only a space for artistic work, but also a living part of the rural community — one that connects the past, present, and future of creative dialogue.
